The Model 4 AIWB Light Bearing holster is purpose-built exclusively for appendix carry and optimized for today’s light-equipped defensive handguns. Derived from the highly popular Model 2 AIWB (non light-bearing), the Model 4 takes the proven comfort, concealment, and performance-driven features that made the Model 2 a customer favorite—and evolves the platform by adding the ability to securely carry a weapon-mounted light.
Our goal in developing the Model 4 AIWB Light Bearing was to preserve everything shooters appreciated about the Model 2 while expanding its capability to accommodate light-equipped firearms. The result is a dedicated appendix holster that maintains the same streamlined design, premium materials, and exceptional adjustability, now enhanced with a precision-engineered light-bearing configuration for consistent retention and dependable performance.
Like the Model 2, the Model 4 incorporates a rear body contour—commonly referred to as a wedge—on the side of the holster that rests against the body. This feature enhances concealment by preventing the upper portion of the holster from tipping outward, keeping the grip tucked securely against the body for a secure, stable fit. This dedicated contouring makes it ideal for appendix carry, while intentionally limiting adaptability to other carry positions.
To further support light-equipped firearms, the Model 4 AIWB Light Bearing features a slightly extended muzzle designed to help shield and protect the weapon light’s glass lens from impact and debris. At the same time, it retains an open-barrel design, allowing debris to clear freely and maintaining compatibility with threaded barrels.
Important Note on Appendix Carry:
While appendix carry is an excellent and highly effective carry position, it is not the right fit for everyone. Not all body types or personal preferences lend themselves to comfortable appendix carry.
If you are looking for a holsters without body contouring—ones that can easily adapt to a wider range of carry positions and body types—we encourage you to explore our Model 1 IWB Non Light Bearing and Model 3 IWB Light Bearing holsters.
MODEL 4 AIWB - LIGHT BEARING FEATURES:
Notes: Micro and Compact Pistols:
Some micro and compact pistols (M&P Shield, Springfield Hellcat Pro, etc.) benefit from extended muzzle length for improved concealment. This extra length enables better adjustability in ride height and helps mitigate the "spill-over" effect, where the upper part of the gun (above the belt line) tends to protrude over the waistline, resulting in printing.
Due to the shorter dimensions of subcompact and micro firearms, the available ride height adjustment is reduced when using DCC HLR clips. For these models, the DCC Monoblock clip is recommended, especially for users with large or extra-large hands.
